Egypt to Launch Digital Visa-On-Arrival System at Cairo Airport
Egypt is introducing a new digital visa-on-arrival system to modernize airport entry procedures and reduce waiting times for international travelers.
The new programme will commence in August 2026, initially at all terminals of Cairo International Airport, before gradually extending to other airports countrywide. The change for international visitors entails replacing traditional visa stickers with electronic QR codes. These digital permits can be obtained up to 48 hours before arrival through self-service kiosks, an official online platform, or a dedicated mobile application, with visa and service fees required online.
