This change, effective for approvals issued from 12 June 2026, primarily benefits foreign tourists planning multi-country journeys within South Asia, allowing re-entry into India after visiting neighbouring nations such as Nepal or Sri Lanka. The visa continues to permit a maximum stay of thirty days from the initial date of entry into the country. No new fees have been introduced with this adjustment.
