Vietnam Implements Mandatory Digital Arrival Card for Ho Chi Minh City Arrivals

Starting April 15, 2026, foreign travelers arriving at Ho Chi Minh City's Tan Son Nhat Airport must submit a free online Digital Arrival Card before clearing immigration.

The new digital system replaces the traditional paper arrival slip, generating a unique QR code for faster border processing upon arrival. This requirement extends to all foreign nationals entering Vietnam, encompassing those who hold a visa and those eligible for visa exemption, as well as overseas Vietnamese travelling on a foreign passport with a valid visa. However, Vietnamese citizens holding a Vietnamese passport and transit passengers who do not pass through immigration are exempt from this new rule. Travellers must submit the online form up to 72 hours prior to their scheduled arrival.
